What we hear most

The three things that come up every time

Shoes that feel tight by hour three

Cabin pressure and immobility make feet swell. Slipping into something roomy at cruising altitude beats loosening laces every twenty minutes.

Heavy, stiff legs after long sitting

The calf muscle pump barely works in a seat. Graduated compression plus a few aisle walks keep legs feeling lighter on arrival.

Hotel floors and shared bathrooms

A washable slipper that dries overnight is the small luxury that makes a hotel room feel like somewhere you can actually relax.

Flight socks you can adjust mid-air

Zip them closed before boarding, open them at the gate. No stretching over a swollen foot in a cramped seat, and the open toe keeps things breathable on a twelve-hour leg.

  • On and off without leaving your seat
  • Graduated support for long sitting
  • Pack flat, weigh nothing

Your second pair of shoes for the whole trip

Light enough to clip to a backpack, cushioned enough for a full day of museums, and grippy enough for the hotel bathroom. Slip them on at security, keep them on in the room.

  • Slip-on at security, no laces
  • Cushioned for long walking days
  • Washable and quick-drying

For the desk you come back to

Travel days end at a desk. An adjustable footrest at home or at the office lets you keep the legs elevated while you catch up on everything the trip pushed back.

  • Adjustable height and tilt
  • Great for recovery after a long flight
  • Fits under most desks

Love these compression socks, bought them from an Instagram ad and I'm super happy with the quality! The zipper makes them so much easier to put on. Comfortable, well made, and great value.

Best clogs ever

Best clogs ever!! They're seriously so comfy. I wear them with or without socks depending on the day and they still look great. Super easy to wipe clean too. True to size for me.

What is actually going on, and what helps

What long sitting does to your legs

In a seat, the calf muscles stop pumping blood back toward the heart and fluid pools in the lower legs. That is why shoes feel tighter after a few hours and ankles look puffy on landing.

A simple in-flight routine

Put the socks on before boarding, stand or walk every hour or two when it is safe, do twenty ankle circles and calf raises at your seat, and drink water regularly. Compression complements movement, it does not replace it.

Packing light without giving up comfort

Two pairs of socks and one pair of slippers cover a week: rinse the socks in the sink, hang them overnight, wipe the slippers when you get back from a dusty day. Nothing needs a shoe bag or special care.

When to check with a doctor

Pain, warmth or swelling in one calf after a long journey should be assessed the same day. If you have a circulatory condition or a history of clots, ask your doctor which compression level suits you before flying.

FeetWell products are comfort items, not medical devices, and nothing here replaces advice from your doctor. In an emergency, call 911 in the US or 112 in Europe.
